Brittany & Wyland | Desert vow Renewal
If you have TikTok then you might recognize these two pretty people. Brittany Jade & Wyland Szabo have such an amazing love story. So amazing in fact that it has made them internet famous. One of the infamous details is their $100,000 divorce that they ultimately called off. If you’re not familiar you can follow Brittany over on TikTok or Instagram. (Wyley too!) From using TikTok for fun- it’s now her full-time job. She’s incredibly open about her personal story of recovery from addiction, and not only inspires others through her sobriety but connects them to vital resources. She also shares her marriage and family life, (and she keeps it real) plus some sweet amazon fashion finds.
I had the honor of documenting their 10 year vow renewal in Morango Valley, California. Morango Valley is just outside of Palm Springs right before Joshua Tree. The landscape is so unique. Filled with cacti and succulents against a backdrop of mountains it’s an incredible place for a Southern California elopement. Even after visiting dozens of times the beauty of the desert continues to impress me.
Our location Oeste Home, a Morango Valley AirBnb which was featured in Dwell Magazine. Oeste is pretty much a photographer’s dream. Boho meets the desert plus understated thoughtful styling made this San Diego Wedding Photographer a very happy gal. We spent the entire day at the AirBnb, so we had to hide Brittany a few times. Wyley was so amazing juggling getting ready and their 3 adorable kids while Brittany glammed up. We had their first look just outside the home, then wandered the grounds for their couples’ photos, and finished up with their ceremony at sunset.
Wyland & Brittany are two of the most genuine people I’ve met. They were so fun to photograph and their love for each other was so evident. Plus to this day I have never met a husband as willing and happy to take a zillion photos. He was made to be married to an influencer. I feel so lucky to have been able to capture this special moment for them! Their day is what has drawn me to be an elopement photographer. When you’re eloping or having a micro wedding the day is just so much more personal. You can just feel the intimacy and raw emotions of a couple’s love with the pressure and expectations of a crowd. While I’d travel the world to photograph your elopement, I have to say that I’m partial to Southern California. From beaches to the desert, to mountains, SoCal elopement photographers really have it made. It’s all right here!
